    From Brian May's site:

"Well, the news seems to be out .... Roger spilled the beans on his interview with the Wettendass Web-page gal .... so I endorsed it.

And this time it's not just a rumour. We are in the process of looking at venues for a QUEEN tour in the spring. It really all came about because of the Fender 50th Anniversary gig that I did with Paul Rodgers. We were both so amazed at the chemistry that was going on in All Right Now, that suddenly it seems blindingly obvious that there was "something happening here". And if we were to play together some more, which we both thought was an exciting possibility, who would be the drummer ??? Well, the expression "No Brainer" comes to mind. Then the UK Hall of Fame awards just came up out of the blue. Apparently we had won one of the categories and the request was there for us to play. I had already had the conversation with Roger at this point, about how brilliant Paul Rodgers was, and, since, very conveniently, he had also been asked to be there, we agreed we would ask Paul if he would team up with us for this event.

The rest in a way is already History. The show went so incredibly well from our point of view, and we got so many rave reactions from out there, we decided almost then and there that we would look at a tour together.

This is what we have been doing over the last two or three weeks, looking at venues, discussing how we might approach our collective material, etc. etc.

It's very exciting .... ever since the run-up to that Awards show, I felt in my waters that something big and scary was happening. Scary because as soon as you press the button for something like this you set a massive juggernaut into motion which cannot be stopped ! So bang goes the home life, and anything else we might have planned for the coming months. Suddenly the QUEEN Phoenix is rising again from the ashes, and will take precedence over everything in our lives. So be it. So there ya go. I won't go into more details right now, but, barring accidents, QUEEN and PAUL RODGERS will be on the road, pretty much for sure, around April 2005.

    See ya there !

    Love

    Bri"

Not so sure what to think about this one. I can think of many other voices that could be better, but if the guys are happy with it, then cool I guess. I mean, they have put it to rest for a looooong time, and obviously it won't tarnish the memory of Freddie.

I am also wondering if Deacon will be a part of this, or if he will sit it out, since he doesn't show up for anything else.

***edited as I just now realized I type "Phil" instead of "Paul"...duh...***

I'd love to see a band featuring Brian May,Roger Taylor and Paul Rodgers. They're al massive talents.

    BUT.

That band WILL NEVER BE QUEEN. If they bill it as Queen, I will boycott the whole farrago. I've already lost a lot of respect for May and Taylor for the way they've raped the Queen name since Freddie died, so if they go ahead with this it's the last nail in the coffin. Paul Rodgers' voice and stage presentation is entirely different to Freddie's, so how the hell can it be the same band?

Queen without Freddy is like Van Halen without Roth.

All great players, but I can't see Rodgers hitting some of the high notes.

No problem as long as Deacon is included. Otherwise it should be billed as 'May, Taylor, Rogers'.

agreed, Queen without Freddie is NOT Queen, even if the other 3 are there, If they do it it should be with a new name...ala Velvet Revolver which basically was GnR minus axl and izzy. I would love to hear the stuff from May Taylor and Rodgers, and I bet it would be great, but it will never be Queen

From the way it sounds, no Deacon. I guess deacon fully believes that Queen died with Freddie.

<font size="4" face="Arial">And for that I salute him. He doesn't need the money, he doesn't need to wallow in past glories and he REALLY doesn't want to piss on the legacy of what his band achieved. Fair play to him.

It's also not the NY Dolls with out Johnny Thunders
It's also not the Lords of the New Church without Stiv Bators
It's also not Thin Lizzy without Phil
It's not Rainbow without Ritchie Blackmoore

There are too many bands that you can say this about. At the same time there are bands that have done well without one person.

The Rolling Stones with our Bill Wyman
    Marillion without Fish
    The Wildhearts without Danny

I admit certain people do make the band. If John Lennon or Paul McCarntey left the beatles who knows what may have happen. May have gotten bigger than they were.

i would totally support a band featuring these guys, if it wasn't called QUEEN!

go on tour play some new stuff, some queen stuff and some free stuff, would be awesome.

his voice would be good for stuff like, hammer to fall and stone cold crazy

I agree with the first batch for the most part. But Bill Wyman and Danny are the bassists. Would it be The Wildhearts WITHOUT Ginger?

Queen was around a LONG time and had a hell of a lot of success. They were fronted by a vocalist only rivaled by David Lee Roth as far as "ROCK STAR" goes. His voice is still one of the most original, unique, strong and perfect to be in ANY form of music. The man was respected by everybody. The strength in that voice alone was stunning. He was also a primary writer in the band.
